Built on experience.

Established in 2009, CTD Scotland has developed through the successful delivery of construction, refurbishment, fit-out and joinery projects across Edinburgh and the surrounding areas.

Our work ranges from smaller specialist projects through to larger commercial developments, with experience across hospitality, retail, offices, education, healthcare and residential environments.

We understand that every project is different. Our role is to bring together the people, trades, materials and expertise required to deliver the agreed scope of work properly and efficiently.

Quality. Communication. Accountability. These principles sit at the centre of how we approach every project.

  • 01Quality We care about the standard of the finished project and the detail that goes into achieving it.
  • 02Communication Clients and project teams should know where a project stands and what is happening next.
  • 03Accountability We take responsibility for the work we undertake and work with the wider project team to resolve issues as they arise.

We manufacture bespoke joinery for commercial and residential projects, producing individual pieces and larger installations to suit the requirements of the project.

Bespoke joinery should be part of the project programme, not an afterthought. We manage the process from site survey and design coordination through to manufacture, finishing and installation.

06 / Questions
06 / Questions

Questions we get asked a lot.

If the answer you need is not here, please contact us and a member of our team will discuss the project with you.

What does a commercial fit-out cost in Edinburgh?

Cost depends on the size of the unit, its existing condition and the specification required. A small retail refit and a full restaurant fit-out sit at very different levels, so we do not quote a figure without establishing the scope first.

Projects are costed by our in-house surveyors against a measured survey, and the quotation is broken down by element so the cost of each part of the works is clear.

How long does a shop or restaurant fit-out take?

That depends on the scope and on the extent of mechanical and electrical works involved. We develop the scope, programme and procurement requirements as part of planning the project, identifying long lead items at the outset.

Where decisions need to be made, we communicate them. Where issues arise, we work with the project team to find practical solutions.

Do you make the joinery yourselves?

Yes. Bar fronts, back-bars, fitted furniture, shopfronts, reception desks and staircases are surveyed on site, made by CTD and finished on site.

From initial drawings through to final installation, CTD manages the complete joinery package alongside the wider project programme.

Which areas do you cover?

We deliver construction, refurbishment, commercial fit-out and bespoke joinery projects across Scotland and throughout the UK, covering Edinburgh, the Lothians and beyond.

Can you work around a business that is still trading?

Often, yes. We have delivered fit-out projects within live city-centre buildings, which affects sequencing and working hours rather than ruling the project out. Raise it early and we will take it into account when developing the programme.

Do you take on home renovations as well as commercial work?

Yes. CTD delivers residential extensions, renovations and refurbishment projects alongside our commercial work. We apply the same rigorous standards of project management, workmanship and quality across every project, ensuring a professional service from initial planning through to completion.

Are you insured and accredited?

Yes. CTD Scotland Ltd is registered in Scotland, company number SC513395, and carries public and employers' liability cover. Current certificates and cover figures are available on request.
